Welcome to the 2018 US History Bee National Championships!

The US History Bee is delighted to welcome a record turnout of nearly 250 students who are contesting its 2018 National Championships at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA on Friday, April 27! We have a great competition set for everyone to display their American history skills on the national stage. Please check the US History Bee pages at www.nhbbstats.com for room assignments and for results updated in real time as they come in. Note that there is no formal check in process; students should just report to their Round 1 room at 7:45-7:50am so that we can start on time at 8:00am.   • Welcome to the US History Bee!


    The US History Bee is an individual social studies competition focusing exclusively on American history for primary and secondary school students across the USA. The US History Bee is administered by International Academic Competitions and like all IAC competitions puts an emphasis on what students are learning in the classroom, and rewards their passion for learning.

    The Varsity / JV US History Bee consists of two stages. The first is the National Qualifying Exam, which students can take either at our Regional sites in person, or online. The second is the National Championships which take place in April 2023. The Middle and Elementary School Divisions of the US History Bee are contested solely at the June 2023 IAC Middle and Elementary School National Championships. These Divisions are open to anyone in 8th grade or younger who has qualified for the National Championships of the National History Bee. For all age divisions, the US History Bee runs exclusively as a buzzer-based quiz tournament at the National Championships.
