Congratulations to Fred Zhang of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (Alexandria, VA) – Varsity,  and Pedro Juan Orduz of Hunter College High School (New York City, NY) – Junior Varsity, the National Champions of the 2019 US History Bee! 87 Varsity and 127 Junior Varsity students – a record turnout – competed in our 2019 US National Championships on Friday, April 26 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA. For Fred, the victory is his second national US History Bee championship in a row. Fred dominated the final, needing only 12 questions to secure 40 points and the victory. Pedro captures his school’s first national US History Bee title, adding to Hunter College HS’s two National History Bowl national titles from past years.

In the Varsity, Mihir Paramesh of Chattahoochee HS (Johns Creek, GA) and William Golden of James E. Taylor HS (Katy, TX) took second and third respectively, while Arjun Nageswaran of Adlai E. Stevenson HS (Lincolnshire, IL) and Liam Starnes of Barrington HS (Barrington, IL) finished 2nd and 3rd in the JV.
